NDSU Hosts Fall Career Expo With Over 200 Employers
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — With lines of employers tabled up waiting for potential employees to come in, there are various opportunities for all.
“Over a thousand students every single year from NDSU actually stay in the state of North Dakota. And so it’s really an opportunity for them to see that there’s a lot more things in North Dakota than what they originally realized,” said Becky Bahe, Director of the Career and Advising Center at NDSU.
This year there was a huge amount of outreach to be a part of the Career Expo. With about 50 employers still on the waiting list.
“We have a lot of employers who come year after year because they tell us they find really great candidates from this fair. And there’s a lot of opportunity and it’s completely worth their time,” said Bahe.
For ones who did make the cut into the Expo, they have said that the event has helped build their team each year. Marvin, a company that manufactures windows and doors nationwide, has had a partnership with NDSU for the Career Expo’s. With many positions available the team has always found new recruits.
“So Marvin is experiencing some growth right now. So we are continuously hiring, whether thats with operations and production to business executive level and anywhere in between,” said Brianna Nistler, Enterprise Talent Acquisition Team Member at Marvin.
With many employers looking to hire, the job market has continued to grow.
