Grand Forks Air Force Base Members Delivered Toys To Sanford In Honor Of Katarina Louthain

Donation Drop

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Grand Forks Air Force Base Squadron brought thousands of toys and items donated to them to Sanford Medical Center.

The Toy Drive started after Robert Louthain’s 6-year-old daughter, Katarina, tragically lost her life earlier this year.

Katarina was flown to Sanford Children’s Hospital for treatment

Members of the base who were close to Katarina wanted to do something to commemorate her memory.

Community members and businesses donated a variety of toys.

“The level of care they provided and the care they provided to…not only to Katarina but the family in general was something I never seen before. So this is something I want to do to give back to Sanford’s Children’s as our way of saying thank you,” said Brian Knutson, First Sergeant of Grand Forks Air Force Base.

Grand Forks Air Base members hope to continue this toy drive for years to come.
