FARGO (KVRR-KFGO) – A Fargo man who is facing charges for illegally owning a gun after a shooting death in Fargo is now facing new gun charges.

20-year-old Amire Logan was a passenger in a car that was stopped for a faulty brake light in West Fargo on September 24.  During the traffic stop, the officer noticed Logan was not wearing a seat belt, and appeared to try and hide something in the back seat.

The driver told the officer outside the car that Logan had a bag of toiletries, but Logan said he had nothing in the car, and denied reaching into the back seat.

Officers searched the car, and found a gun inside a backpack, along with personal belongings. The handgun’s serial number was scratched off. Logan was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Once at the jail, two small bags containing cocaine and marijuana fell out of Logan’s clothes while he was changing.

Logan is facing new charges of felon in possession of a firearm, illegally altering a firearm, and drug possession.

Logan was charged with felon in possession of a firearm in July. He was originally arrested for murder in connection to the death of 24-year-old Zion Brooks.
