Minnesota Timberwolves prepare for life after KAT; expanded role for Naz Reid

MINNEAPOLIS, MN (KVRR) – The Minnesota Timberwolves held their media day in Minneapolis on Monday as the team prepares for life after the reported Karl-Anthony Towns trade and an expanded role for the reigning Sixth Man of the Year, Naz Reid.

After reaching the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2004 last season, the Minnesota Timberwolves are ready to build off that success. And with the news that Towns is being traded to New York, that success will start and end with star guard Anthony Edwards.

With the loss of Kat, a starting spot opens up. That spot could be filled by soon-to-be-acquired Julius Randle, but with the continuous improvement of Naz Reid, he certainly will be in the conversation.

“I think I’m ready for whatever is to come, like I’ve always been. I mean, whether it’s, like you said, starting, more minutes, whatever it is, you know, ask me and I’m here for it.” said Reid.

The Timberwolves have their first preseason game this Saturday in the regular season, slated to begin October 22nd versus the Los Angeles Lakers.
