Moorhead Armory Opens Its Doors For Open House After Major Revamp
MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — Moorhead Armory and Readiness Center holds an open house so people can see the newly-restored armory.
The renovations began in February of last year and cost over $12 million to revamp and update to modern codes.
Minnesota National Guard’s 2nd to the 136th Infantry Combined Arms Battalion has called it home for over 50 years.
“One big part of 2 -136 of our North Battalion is our legacy. You know it dates back to the civil war, we’ve had soldiers that are from this community serving in this organization since the civil war so we have a long lineage and we have that in our museum inside it shows”, said David Morse, Non-Commission Officer in Charge.
The Battalion hopes that with the armory now open again they can invite the community to come back in.
