Fargodome Open House Promotes Vote on Sales Tax
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Fargodome is hosting open house meetings to discuss why people should vote to approve a quarter-cent sales tax.
The tax would be in place for 20 years and would pay for future renovations and upgrades planned to enhance the 30-year-old building.
If passed the renovations would include additional restrooms, new seating with cup holders, new entrances, and more.
The general manager at Fargodome says the project will be completed in about four years if passed.
“Fargodome there’s a lot of events here annually that we just can’t just close the facility for six months or a year. There would be no place for these great events to go. So this will be a phased project looking at the different ways of the phase if possibly the starting with the west side, the south and the southeast,” said Rob Sobolik, Fargodome General Manager.
A final open house is planned for Monday, October 21 at 5 p.m.
