Balcony fire at Fargo apartment building

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Fargo fire crews responded to a balcony fire at an apartment building near Fargo Cass Public Health.

A passerby spotted the fire around 9 a.m.

Crews were able to put out the fire within five minutes after arriving. Damage was limited to the exterior of the building.

According to Fargo Fire, there was no water or smoke damage to the inside of the apartment or the surrounding units.

While no one was hurt, crews were told a person was in the building but they were able to exit on their own.

Fargo Fire Battalion Chief Lee Soeth says, “We did have fire damage all the way up to the top of the, right underneath the soffit, so it must have been fairly large. Starting to grow when they got water on it. We got it on time before it got into the attic.”

The cause of the fire, and the estimated damage are currently unknown.
