Grand Forks man arrested following domestic disturbance, house fire

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (KVRR) – Police say a man was arrested in Grand Forks following a domestic disturbance that “quickly escalated into an open residential fire.”

Officers were called to the disturbance at about 10:17 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say the suspect, James Laducer, was inside the residence when an altercation occurred with a woman.

Laducer managed to inflict “serious bodily injury” on the woman and then proceeded to light various objects on fire within the residence.

Also inside the residence were two young juveniles.

Laducer attempted to flee the scene and was intercepted by law enforcement as he exited out of a 2nd story window and then he began to engage officers in another physical altercation outside.

Laducer was taken into custody and arrested for endangerment by fire, preventing arrest, and domestic aggravated assault.

The woman and the two juveniles were not injured by the fire.
