Sanford Health offers free shots ahead of flu season at West Fargo Library

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – It’s almost flu season, and Sanford Health wants to make sure that you’re vaccinated.

They held a free vaccination clinic at the West Fargo Public Library Wednesday, where people could come to get their flu shots free of charge.

Flu season typically peaks from December to February, and it is important to make sure you’re vaccinated and protected against the flu before then.

Sanford Health says that even if you’re healthy, it’s still important to get vaccinated to protect others whose immune systems may be compromised.

“It’s always nice that everybody gets the flu shot to help support everyone and anyone that might have not as perfect an immune system as the rest of you. So by you getting the flu shot you help protect not only yourself, but everybody else that you come in contact with.”

If you weren’t able to make it to any of the free clinics you can still get your vaccines. You can make an appointment at any clinic, and you don’t have to see your primary care provider in order to get vaccinated.
