Local musicians honor the legacy of John Prine

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Local musicians gathered at the Fargo Theatre Sunday to pay tribute to a music legend.

Country-folk singer John Prine passed away in 2020, and now local acts are getting together to play his music that they grew up with.

The show featured local artists Jesse Veeder, Gina Powers, The Radio Stars Band and many more.

Many of the artists have worked together before, and they say that gives the show a family atmosphere.

“Just a while ago there was a jam session in the dressing room here, informal people playing. And it’s just a great atmosphere. And then when you get in front of the crowd, that love between all these performers translates, and gets delivered to people in the audience.”

They added that it was great to see the fans come out to honor John Prine’s music together.
