Police identify man shot by fellow hunter

PERLEY, Minn. — Authorities have identified the hunter shot by someone in his own hunting party near Perley.

According to the Norman County Sheriff’s Office, Timothy Rousar, 37, has been released from the hospital. He suffered injuries to his face after he was struck on the right side by a 12 gauge shotgun slug. The slug remains lodged in his sinus cavity.

Police have determined that the incident was accidental and no criminal charges will be filed.

On Nov. 9, police were got a report of a hunting accident near Perley. Nov. 9 is the start of Minnesota’s gun deer season.
