Sheyenne Mustangs win Class AAA football state title over Davies

FARGO (KVRR) – The Sheyenne Mustangs stuck to their gameplan all night long, feed the ball to Kye Schlicting and suffocate the Davies Eagles offense. They did so, winning the Class AAA state football championship 24-14 over Davies.

Schlicting had two rishing touchdowns and the Mustangs defense picked up clutch turnovers in the win.

“It’s a culmination of a great year and the kids worked their butts off and we did have a lot of adversity tonight and they overcame it,” said Head Coach Jeremy Newton. “I’m really proud of them.”

Sheyenne won the Class AA title in 2021, and now they’ve claimed the 3A title to add to their hardware.
