Fargo Cass Public Health Provides Resources For Great American SmokeOut
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Fargo Cass Public Health is encouraging smokers and users of vaping devices to set Thursday as their quit date.
The quit date is part of a nationwide campaign called “Great American SmokeOut” which started in the 1970’s in Massachusetts.
Several years ago Fargo Cass Public Health worked to bring the SmokeOut to the area and is still offering programs to help smokers stop.
With the help of their providers, they tailor services and tools that will help individuals looking to quit.
“So I’m calling it counseling but it’s more just talking to, talking to somebody so the fast question I usually ask people when they come in like, what are some reasons you want to quit today? Because there are those reasons that will hold you through your journey. Once they know why they want to quit it’s that particular reason that will keep them going,” said Doreen Odera, FCPH Community Health Educator.
