Coin Collectors Gather in Fargo
The 21st annual Coin Show of North Dakota brought in numismatists from around the state.
FARGO, N.D. – The Ramada by Wyndham Fargo clinked with activity as coin buyers, sellers, and general enthusiasts poured in to discuss a variety of wares.
Items for sale included, of course, coins – but also other forms of currency, stamps, and commemorative tokens.
Numismatists say their hobby is underrated, and that coins can have an artistic or historical value that isn’t always immediately apparent.
“There’s a buffalo nickel, for example, that was minted from 1913 to 1938. The guy who designed that was born in Minnesota!” said Mick Froslee of Vining, Minnesota. “It was a key thing for me to realize about his history and that significance.”
If you missed out, don’t worry – the Red River Valley Coin Club would for you to attend their next show. It’ll take place Saturday and Sunday, January 25th and 26th, and will also be at the Ramada by Wyndham Fargo.
