Fargo Brewing Company Bids Farewell
The outfit filed for bankruptcy in April, then announced in October they wouldn't be able to go on.
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — The party on University Drive kicked off in the old taproom – the entrance currently marked EMPLOYEES ONLY – where Fargo Brewing Company’s journey began back in 2010.
Loyal customers turned up to celebrate the fun times, wishing they would have lasted just a bit longer.
“It’s been a great place to come to, it’s always been a friendly atmosphere,” said Giga Hops fan Eric Christiansen.
“The people that come here are great people and a strong reflection of the community.”
After filing for bankruptcy in April, FBC announced in October that they would be shutting down for good. The staff said there wasn’t one cause that ultimately made the business untenable.
“There’s a myriad of things,” said head brewer Sean Dunnigan. “COVID was huge. We never really bounced back from that.”
Dunnigan said the day was bittersweet, feeling the support from the community while knowing that it was for the last time.
“[The end came] a little sooner than we wanted, but, it’s alright. At least we have all our friends here to say goodbye with us.”
Friends who remain appreciative for what the brewery meant to the city.
“It’s been a wonderful ride. Ever since they started, we’ve been cheering them on,” said Tammy Hauck.
Fargo Brewing intended for this to be the last call, but they will assess their remaining inventory over the 24th and 25th and see if they can open one truly final time before Thanksgiving.
