Bison Safety Cole Wisniewski Enters Transfer Portal

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) –On the first day Division I players can officially enter the transfer portal, North Dakota State loses a big name.

Safety Cole Wisniewski announced on his X (formerly Twitter) page that he has entered his name in the transfer portal for his final year of eligibility.

The preseason All-American did not play this season after undergoing surgery in August. While there was optimism he could return to the field for NDSU in the playoffs, he will now look to play elsewhere in 2025 and is off the Bison roster.

He wrote on X:

“I am incredibly grateful for the past five years at North Dakota State University. Being part of such a special program and community has been an honor and privilege. I am deeply thankful to have played a small role in NDSU’s storied history and will forever cherish the memories and relationships I’ve built here and am extremely excited to watch the continued success of Bison Football under Coach Polasek’s leadership. As I look ahead to my final year of eligibility, I have made the decision to enter the transfer portal. Thank you, NDSU, for being special.”
