Bismarck man facing attempted murder charge for allegedly shooting at, strangling, and assaulting girlfriend

BISMARCK, N.D. (KVRR-KFGO) – A Bismarck man is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, after police say he assaulted and shot at his girlfriend.
Court records say 32-year-old Casey Nimrick and his girlfriend got into an argument December 3, and the woman left the home because of a previous domestic assault.
According to court records, the woman contacted police December 3 after the fight, and she feared for her life because of an earlier incident. The victim explained she got into an argument with Nimrick on November 18. She said Nimrick hit her in the head with a beer bottle. The victim then took a shower to clean up the blood.
The victim told police Nimrick fired several shots from a handgun at her while she was in the shower, but all missed. She said Nimrick then got into the shower and strangled her. Nimrick then slammed the victim’s head into the shower wall, knocking her unconscious. The woman then tried to leave the house, but Nimrick pushed her down the stairs, slammed her foot in a door, and fired more shots.
Court documents say the victim still had injuries consistent with her story, and showed investigators photos of her injuries that were timestamped the day the assault happened. She also told police a 7-year-old girl was home during the assault.
A warrant was issued for Nimrick, and he was arrested December 4. Police found two baggies of cocaine on Nimrick when he was arrested.
Nimrick is facing felony charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, domestic violence, and child neglect. He is also facing charges for possession of cocaine and drug paraphernalia.
