Bonanzaville Hosts “Christmas on the Prairie”

The popular attraction promised down-home, old-fashioned Christmas fun with its slate of activities.

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – “Christmas on the Prairie” at Bonanzaville in West Fargo promised a return to a simpler time when carolers sang the sounds of the season.

That’s not all that was offered.

There were pictures with Santa, carriage rides and even a specialty seasonal model train display.

The Spud Valley Model Railroad Club operates out of Bonanzaville, and as their leader explains, this train has great significance to North Dakota.

Plus, it’s popular with the children.

“[It] is an actual running train for Canadian Pacific Railroad. They come through Hankinson, North Dakota every year and they stop and have a concert. It’s a great time down there,” explained club president Dennis Voje.

He went on to say, “I love coming out here and showing the train, the kids love it, and and that’s what model railroading is all about. Let the kids have the fun.”

Voje added that they’re always looking for new club members, and you don’t even need to own trains to join.

Just swing by Bonanzaville any Tuesday at 7:30.
