Golden Drive for Homeless Kids Announced Its Annual Sock Donation Numbers
WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Golden Drive for Homeless Kids announced its annual sock drive donation numbers at the West Fargo Fire Department.
This year they have received 36,906 socks that have been donated from various schools and organizations around the community.
Susan was filled with tears of joy announcing the number.
West Fargo Police Department and the Cass County Sheriff’s Department both were head to head on making donations, but this year West Fargo Police pulled into the lead with over 8,000 socks donated.
“We have schools that are asking for food more than anything and hygiene and this community has stepped up,” said Susan Baron, Founder of Golden Drive for Homeless Kids.
“Went to Cass County Sheriff’s Department the last couple of years, but after seeing it there for the last few years we put in a little bit of extra effort this year and brought the trophy back to where it belongs,” said Pete Nielsen, Chief of West Fargo Police.
Golden Drive for Homeless Kids is currently working on bringing donations out to the community and will soon be working on their next event.
