Over 500 Families Receive Toys For Christmas
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — This Christmas, over 500 local families will be able to give toys to their kids thanks to the support of their community.
The Salvation Army started distributing toys to families through its “Christmas Toy Shop”
event.
Families applied and were approved through its “Angel Tree” program.
Donations came from numerous businesses and organizations.
There are over 1,200 toys that were received to cover ages from infants to 12-year-olds.
“As a community, we care about you and we want to make these holidays special and joyful for everyone involved. Christmas is not easy for everybody, it’s hard for some people. We also do gifts to shut-ins and nursing homes, … those folks forgotten either. So the Salvation Army’s very busy throughout the year and Christmas we do a little extra,” said Major Abe Tamayo, Salvation Army.
The Christmas Toy Shop distribution continues tomorrow at Hope Lutheran.
