UPDATE: Man Arrested After Hit-and-Run Turns Fatal on 52nd Ave. South in Fargo

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR/KFGO-UPDATE 1:10 PM) — North Dakota Highway Patrol says a 36-year-old woman who was hit while crossing the street near Walmart on 52nd Avenue South in Fargo this morning has died.

It happened around 6:30 a.m.

The man accused of driving the car that hit her, 23-year-old Alex Cruz of Fargo, was located and arrested for leaving the scene of a fatal crash, a felony.

His Dodge Charger was impounded.

Cruz had been cited for speeding four times this year including one citation for driving over 23-miles-an-hour over the limit in West Fargo.

The woman died at Essentia Health.

Her name will be released on Tuesday.

The crash remains under investigation.

FARGO(KVRR) — A woman is in the hospital with life threatening injuries after a hit and run crash in Fargo this morning.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a light colored Dodge Charger struck a 36 year old woman who was crossing 38th St S at 53rd Ave S in Fargo at approximately 6:30 AM.

The Charger did not stop, and fled the scene Eastbound on 52nd Ave. S

The woman was taken to Essentia Hospital with life threatening injuries.

The Highway Patrol and Fargo Police say the Charger involved will have damage to the drivers’ side front headlight and bumper.
