3-on-3 Basketball Tournament Raises Money, Spirits for Landon’s Light

The organization provides aid to critically ill children and their families.

WEST FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – Landon Solberg was just 12 years old when inoperable brain cancer took his life.

But his memory lives on – every year at the middle school he would have called home – in the form of a massive 3-on-3 basketball tournament.

Liberty Middle plays host to the extravaganza, which features a ton of friendly competition and a spirit of joy that mimics what Landon brought to people’s lives.

“It’s really emotional,” said Landon’s mom, Andrea. “He loved basketball.”

The executive director of Landon’s Light, Julie Christianson, echoed those sentiments, adding,

“This is really about having good sportsmanship, getting together and having some fun.”
