Mayor and Police Chief Attend “State of Downtown Fargo” Event

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Downtown Community Partnership hosting its first “State of Downtown Fargo” event.

Fargo’s elite gathered at Jasper Hotel for drinks and hors d’oeuvres during a social hour before settling down to a meal while speakers shared Downtown Fargo’s latest achievements and projects.

Fargo Mayor Tim Mahoney spoke at the event and took a poll of those in attendance on how best to use the Civic Center.

Mahoney also spoke about just how much Downtown Fargo has become a place for people to live, rather than just a center for commerce.

“This is a neighborhood. It isn’t just a downtown environment. It’s a neighborhood of people and the more we walk, work, live in the downtown, the more we make it a livable area for everybody,” said Mahoney

Other speakers included Police Chief David Zibolski and Folkways Development Manager Emma McIntyre.
