Burgum States His Approach On Energy Production Will Be For The People

WASHINGTON D.C. (KVRR) — Former North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum’s confirmation hearing began this morning as the Interior Secretary nominee.
His role would make him responsible for the conservation and management of natural resources and public lands.
Burgum stated that the U.S. would need to leverage the development of fossil fuels and other energy sources in order to promote world peace.
President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to increase drilling for oil and gas with the goal of U.S. “energy dominance”.
Hawaii Democratic Sen. Mazie Hirono found that Burgums initiative to go with Trump’s plan is troubling.
“As part of my sworn duty, I’ll follow the law and follow the constitution. And so you can count on that and I have not heard of any anything about President Trump wanting to do anything other than advancing energy production for the benefit of the American people,” said Doug Burgum.
South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem will have her hearing tomorrow for Homeland Security Secretary.
