One team gets to work cracking into the mystery.

CASSELTON, N.D. – Saturday, the Veterans Club in Casselton saw a different kind of competition.

The establishment on Front Street hosted their first ever puzzle-solving contest.

Teams paid an entry fee, then were each presented with an identical puzzle at the same time and told to get to work.

The three fastest teams all received gift cards.

Manager Lucas Potter says he’s been to many puzzle competitions with his wife, and was very pleased at the positive feedback this event got once it was announced.

“People need something to do when it’s cold outside, so even though this weekend it’s finally kind of nice out – that hurt our numbers a little bit, people finally getting to go out and do stuff, we still had a decent turnout,” he said.

And – regardless of how you fared in the competition – every team got to take home their puzzle.
