67th Kiwanis Pancake Karnival Packs Fargodome

Event organizers expected to feed ten thousand people over the course of the day.

FARGO, N.D. – The smell of flapjacks filled the Fargodome Saturday for a massive pancake feed put on by the Kiwanis Club.

That’s because it was time for the 67th Kiwanis Pancake Karnival.

The doors opened at 7 A.M. and thousands of people began streaming in almost immediately.

KVRR’s TJ Nelson helped dish out the tasty and fan-favorite sausages while Alison Voorhees helped quench thirst with milk and orange juice.

There was also an area with a bunch of inflatables, to keep the kids entertained.

The Kiwanis Club said that the quantity of food they serve on this day is simply staggering.

“We aim to serve about 10 thousand people each year,” said Shereen Stark, chair of the Karnival.

“We have about 5 thousand pounds of pancake mix each year that we go through, and 5 thousand pounds of sausage.”

All proceeds from the event are going to support a special area in Island Park dedicated to mental wellness.
