Youth Pond Hockey Day Brings Little Skaters to Lindenwood Park
The games were contested jamboree-style, which meant there was no real emphasis on winning or losing.

FARGO, N.D. – The sounds of scraping skates and tapping sticks echoed through the frosty air hanging over Lindenwood Park this Saturday.
That’s because it was time for the annual Youth Pond Hockey day, put on by the Fargo Park District.
23 teams competed in the jamboree-style event, with all participants 10 years old or younger.
The games were four-on-four and very fast-paced – and Fargo Parks says it was a massive undertaking to get so many outdoor rinks into playing shape.
“Our operations department is some of the best out there. So they’ve been working on this for probably about two months,” explained Stephanie D’Ambrosio, event manager for the district.
“They’ll come out and do floods. The tent that we warm up in, that’s a feat in its own as well. So our operations team puts a lot of work into this.”
Speaking of that tent – in between games, players and parents headed to the warming tent for cozy snacks, warm drinks, and the chance to toast marshmallows at our outdoor fire pits.
