North Dakota Is One Of At Least Twenty States Pushing A Resolution For Term Limits in Congress

BISMARCK, N.D. (KVRR) — Sen. Jeffery Magrum of Hazelton, North Dakota is the primary sponsor for a resolution to amend the U.S. Constitution and impose term limits on members of Congress.

Currently, nine states have passed a similar resolution and at least twenty states have added the resolution to be passed.

It does not specify how long a member of Congress should be in office.

The resolution comes at a time when many in Congress in the past few years have had medical concerns.

“We have to take that chance I guess if it ever comes to that. Now some people think it would never get that far because Congress might say, Wow we got all these states wanting to do this anyway. Maybe we should do this on our ourselves and that might be the case,” said Sen. Jeffrey Magrum.

At least thirty-four states would need to pass the resolution for Congress to call a limited convention.
