North Dakota Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Champion surprised with free trip
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — It was a happy day for one family at Sanford Children’s Hospital on Tuesday.
West Fargo’s Jacob Haug has been named the North Dakota Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Champion for Sanford Children’s in Fargo.
A small ceremony was held Tuesday at Sanford Hospital to honor Jacob and his family with gifts, including a trip to Disney World.
Jacob also met with Fargo Force players. The players were all wearing their new jersey that Jacob designed. The color purple was chosen to represent seizure awareness.
Hours after he was born, Jacob suffered a stroke which has caused him to grow up while dealing with seizures and physical therapy. Despite the hardships, Those that know him say he is a joy to be around with an optimistic spirit.
While Jacob knew he was going to visit Force players, he had no idea about the trip to Disneyworld.
“He knew he’d see the Force players. He didn’t know it’d be more than just Force players here. So we kind of kept that whole surprise from him,” said Jacob’s mother Karla Haug.
Jacob will also be dropping the puck and riding the Zamboni for Sanford Children’s Night on March 1.
