Two semis involved in fiery crash in Fargo

FARGO (KVRR-KFGO) – Multiple crews and agencies responded to a fiery crash involving two semis on Interstate 29 in Fargo Friday morning.

The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes under the 19th Avenue N. overpass.

The Highway Patrol says one semi was merging onto the interstate after being stopped on the shoulder when it was rear-ended by the other semi. The semi that struck the merging truck and trailer started on fire. Fargo Fire crews put the fire out.

The trailer that got hit sustained significant damage. The semi truck that struck the trailer is a total loss.

The driver of the semi that burned suffered minor injuries.

The Highway Patrol says both trailers were empty.

The Highway Patrol, Fargo Police, Fargo Fire, and Sanford Ambulance were at the scene.
