Mapleton man identified as Grass Lake drowning victim

RICHLAND COUNTY, N.D. (KVRR/KFGO) — The man who drown in Grass Lake northwest of Lidgerwood has been identified.

Richland County Sheriff’s Office says 70-year-old Randy Myhre, of Mapleton, died Sunday.

Myhre’s body was found in open water after his pickup broke through the ice.

Divers from Valley Water Rescue from Fargo recovered the body with assistance from the Richland County Dive Team.

His dog was found dead inside the pickup.

Myre was supposed to meet friends to fish and didn’t show up.
