Protest Takes Place Outside Fargo Post Office
Letter carriers and their supporters rallied to let President Trump know they would not acquiesce to his efforts to alter the USPS.

FARGO, N.D. – A significant crowd of protesters braved the chilly temperatures on Sunday, lining up in front of the post office in downtown Fargo.
They’re part of a nationwide wave of protests aimed at President Trump’s proposed changes to the USPS.
Trump has suggested moving the postal service under the umbrella of the Commerce Department or even privatizing it entirely.
Postal advocates say such decisions would be disastrous for the country and that they’re impressed at the protest turnout.
“If the postal service got in the hands of private corporations, they would be looking to make a profit, and any areas that are not profitable would likely not receive service,” explained Cory Carter, president of the North Dakota State Association of Letter Carriers.
“I’m shocked,” he added, “to be honest right now. I thought the weather was really going to throw a damper on our efforts today, but I’m really pleased to see the number of people out.”
