National Weather Service Presents Spring and Summer Outlook

(KVRR) — National Weather Service in Grand Forks presented its spring and summer outlook with concerns about drought conditions persisting through the next several months.
The concerns come up after the cold winter months failed to produce much moisture in the form of snow.
With the temperatures also being above normal in previous years, drought has increased throughout the state.
It is estimated that there will not be as much precipitation from April into May.
“If you’re hoping for moisture to supply water to your garden or if you’re a farmer that you supply water to your crops that you plant or just in general water to support native vegetation. We have relatively modest expectations for that,” said Allen Schlag, Hydrologist with National Weather Service in Bismarck.
The biggest looming concern the National Weather Service has pointed out is that this summer may have more wildfires.
