Funeral for Clint Hill will be at Washington National Cathedral

FARGO (KVRR) – The funeral for former Secret Service Agent Clint Hill, the North Dakota native who witnessed the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, will be held at Washington National Cathedral on April 8.

Hill was 93 when he died on Feb. 21.

Hill was in the presidential motorcade in Dallas, Texas in November, 1963. An iconic photo shows Hill leaping onto the back of Kennedy’s limousine after the president was fatally shot.

Hill was born in 1932 and grew up in Washburn, North Dakota. He attended Concordia College in Moorhead and served in the Army before joining the Secret Service in 1958.

Washington National Cathedral has been the site of several state funerals and memorial services for U.S. presidents and dignitaries.
