MSUM Launches new Honors College

MOORHEAD, Minn. (KVRR) — MSUM is continuing to strive for academic excellence by launching a new program emphasizing challenge, deeper engagement, and unlimited opportunities.
The new Honors College will be open to students in all academic disciplines, with students working together to cultivate a culture of curiosity.
$1 million in scholarships have been allocated to the program, with 100 scholarships being offered each year. The eventual goal is to have 20 to 25 percent of the student body participate in the Honors College.
MSUM says that this program will offer students transformative experiences, and help the university stand out.
“We are fostering elite communicators. When they leave here, employers will see that they have gone above and beyond, and that they have succeeded in all of those adventures and challenges.”
“They’re learning across the curriculum and putting the ideas, theories, perspectives all together in an integrative way.”
The program will be housed in the newly renovated Weld Hall, and will launch in Fall of 2025 with recruitment set to begin this summer.
