Officer Involved In Chase and Shooting In Polk County on Monday Identified

POLK CO., Minn. (KVRR/KFGO) — Minnesota BCA says Crookston Police Officer Sean Murphy is on standard critical incident leave for the shooting of a chase suspect on Monday morning.
The BCA is investigating Murphy’s use of force and will turn its findings over to Polk County Attorney’s Office.
The 7-year department veteran shot 34-year-old Caleb Coffey of Oklahoma in the leg after a chase that started at the Pembina Port of Entry and ended south of Crookston.
Border Patrol initiated the chase after finding that Coffey had a handgun.
When the chase ended he pointed the gun at his head and refused commands to put it down.
Coffey is in jail and charged with felony fleeing a police officer.
