Fargo National Cemetery Amended Bill Passes North Dakota House

BISMARCK, N.D. (KVRR) — North Dakota House passes an amended bill for upgrades at Fargo National Cemetery.
The bill provides a one-time credit of 3 million dollars by Bank of North Dakota to be accessed by the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.
The money will go to building a chapel, parking lot, and related infrastructure.
Sponsors of the bill say the improvements are needed due to our extreme temperatures and the age of many attending funerals.
“This is intended to be one-time funded and will be repaid through a deficiency appropriation. The committee added some guard rails on the bill regarding the reporting of the funds and this is found on the second page. It will require copies all invoices and checks to be sent to the veterans, our veterans affairs agency and then further reported to the legislative audit in fiscal review committee,” said Rep. Brandy L. Pyle, (R) Casselton.
The bill now goes back to the Senate for a final vote.
