Monster Trucks take over Alerus Center

GRAND FORKS (KVRR) – Drivers start your engines, because the monster trucks are coming out for a rally at the Alerus Center this weekend.

The drivers and crews from Toughest Monster Trucks have a lot in store. It’s a larger venue than they usually perform at, and they’ve tuned up their show to match.

The trucks will battle it out on an all-dirt track, along with performances from the highflying Freestyle Motorcycle Team.

Some of the trucks can put out as much as 1600 horsepower and when you get behind the wheel, the drivers say it’s an experience like no other.

“We legitimately have 1600 horsepower coming out of this thing… I drive a Kia Forte personally, I don’t like trying to tell everybody about that, but after driving this thing and then driving that car it literally feels like I’m sitting on the asphalt.”

The event will kick off Saturday with a pit party at 12:30 before the trucks take to the track at 3:00. You can find out more about the event with this story on our Morning Show Page.
