Fargo Man Sentenced For Kidnapping and Raping Neighbor In March 2024

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR/KFGO) — A Fargo man is sentenced to 20 years in prison for kidnapping and brutally raping a neighbor in March 2024.

40-year-old Travis Holt broke down the woman’s apartment door and forced her upstairs to his apartment.

He used a knife to cut off her clothes before raping her.

He also stabbed the woman in the side.

Holt was arrested the next morning by Red River Valley SWAT after he barricaded himself inside his bathroom.

He plead guilty to rape, kidnapping, aggravated assault, and meth possession in January.

Holt was shot by police in 2019 near Larimore, N.D. when he pointed a gun at officers that were checking out his car when it was parked along Highway 2. He served 5 years in prison for terrorizing and possession of a firearm by a violent felon.
