Small Derailment Reported North of Devils Lake

RAMSEY CO., N.D. (KVRR/KFGO) — Five rail cars left the tracks and another partially derailed north of Churchs Ferry north of Devils Lake this morning.

Ramsey County Sheriff Bryan Lang says it appears there was an issue with the tracks or the ground beneath the track.

The derailment happened in a swampy area.

Lang says the train was carrying grain.

BNSF railway crews and a clean-up company went to work to recover the spilled grain and get the rail cars upright.

There were no reports of any injuries.
