Man Sentenced for Coercing a Minor in Otter Tail County

FERGUS FALLS, Minn. (KVRR/KFGO) — A man has been sentenced to four years in prison for sexually coercing a minor in Otter Tail County.

Prosecutors say 22-year-old Jose Ramires of Freeport, Minnesota was temporarily living with a family in Otter Tail County last May.

That is when he coerced their 13-year-old daughter into acts of a sexual nature.

The victim told deputies there were at least two occurrences of physically inappropriate behavior, and said that Ramires told her not to tell her parents.

He pleaded guilty to 3rd degree criminal sexual conduct in April as part of a plea agreement.
