Flip-Flop Golf to Benefit Mental Health
Enough With the Stigma provided flip-flops to all mini golfers because that's how Connor liked to play.

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) – In the spirit of Mental Health Awareness Month, a local non-profit got people out on the course at Thunder Road this weekend to help those that may be struggling with their mental health.
“Enough With the Stigma” was founded by Ron and Karla Forde about two and a half years ago after their son, Connor, died by suicide at the age of 26.
They describe Connor as a vivacious and fun-loving person who really enjoyed golfing – and always did it in a pair of flip-flops.
So the Fordes were out at Thunder Road, handing out flip-flops to all the mini golfers who wanted to participate.
They say events like this are crucial to keeping an open conversation about mental health.
“We don’t want mental health to be heavy. We want it to be fun,” explained Karla.
“Get out with your friends, connect with people. That’s why we do fun little events like this.”
All proceeds from anyone playing mini golf at Thunder Road on May 25 went to “Enough With the Stigma” to help support local mental health initiatives.
