Wildfire smoke continues to blanket North Dakota, Minnesota
Some of the worst-quality air in the nation was centered over the Fargo-Moorhead area

FARGO (KVRR) – Dense smoke from wildfires in Canada continued to blanket much of North Dakota and Minnesota Monday.
According to the Environmental Protection Agency, some of the worst-quality air in the nation was centered over the Fargo-Moorhead area.
The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency has issued an air quality alert for the entire state until Wednesday.
A band of very heavy ground-level smoke is moving through the Red River Valley and northwestern Minnesota. The smoke will continue to follow behind a cold front as it moves southeast.
Fine particle levels are expected to reach the maroon air quality index, a level considered hazardous for everyone. This area includes East Grand Forks, Roseau, and the tribal nation of Red Lake.
Everyone in those areas should avoid any outdoor activity and stay indoors.
