UPDATE: Police arrest man involved in officer assault

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — Fargo Police arrested a man after he assaulted officers in downtown Fargo Saturday.

Officers were called to the 200 block of Roberts Street North around 4:35 PM for a report of suspicious activity.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers attempted to detain the suspect, 37-year-old Joseph Manitowabi, however during the process Manitowabi managed to punch three officers and led Fargo Police on a short pursuit down Roberts Street before being apprehended.

Video of that incident has now been viewed on various social media platforms over a million times.

Manitowabi faces charges of Preventing Arrest, Possession of Methamphetamine, three counts of Assault on a Police Officer, and Possesion of Drug Paraphernalia. He has no permanent address.

The three officers involved in the incident were treated for minor injuries.

This is an ongoing investigation.
