Homeland Security Secretary Noem rushed to hospital after allergic reaction

WASHINGTON, D.C. (CNN) — Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Washington, DC, after an allergic reaction.
A Department of Homeland Security spokewoman says it was out of an abundance of caution and that Noem is alert and recovering.
CNN observed Secret Service agents posted at several entrances outside the emergency room at the hospital where the secretary was admitted.
The 53-year-old Noem is the former governor of South Dakota and became Homeland Security Secretary in January.
