DETROIT LAKES, Minn.(KVRR-KFGO) — The burglary trial for Sen. Nicole Mitchell of Woodbury is rescheduled for July 14 in Becker County.

Jury selection was originally set to begin Monday but was postponed following the recent shootings involving Sen. John Hoffman, House Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman, and their spouses.

Mitchell was arrested in April 2024 after allegedly breaking into her stepmother’s Detroit Lakes home, claiming she was retrieving her late father’s belongings, including his ashes.
