The Longest Open House Raises Money for Alzheimer’s Research

Kyle Olson was inspired to start the event after losing his father to the disease.

FRONTIER, N.D. (KVRR) – A home in Frontier, North Dakota had its doors open all weekend to raise money for Alzheimer’s disease research.

It’s the Longest Open House event, which was started by local realtor Kyle Olson in 2021 after he lost his father to the disease.

The three-day event kicked off Friday evening with a concert, then had tons of entertainment over the weekend, including pro wrestling from Below Zero Wrestling.

Olson says that the conversations he has with those who turn up for the event are incredibly valuable.

“They’ve been so powerful,” he said. “It is amazing how tough this disease is, how it touches almost everybody in some way, form, shape, and people are just coming out, sharing their stories, being vulnerable about it.”

The event began in Fargo but has since spread nationwide, with 7 different locations in 2024.
