Easton Stick Returns to Fargo for Third Annual QB Clinic
THE FORMER NDSU BISON QUARTERBACK IS ENTERING HIS 7TH SEASON IN THE NFL.
FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — On Wednesday, former NDSU Bison quarterback Easton Stick returned to Fargo for his annual Quarterback clinic.
It is the third year Stick has put on the clinic. Each year he brings reinforcements that add to the learning experience for the roughly 40 high school and college quarterbacks from the upper Midwest in attendance.
This year, recently retired Bison QB coach Randy Hedberg, former Bison Wide receiver Darrius Shepard and former bison Quarterback Cam Miller helped out.
Stick, who signed with the Atlanta Falcons in the off season, and is preparing for his 7th season in the NFL, shares what it means to have the former bison trio to help out with this year’s clinic.
“It’s a lot of fun,” said Stick. “It means a lot. It just shows we kind of feel the same way about this place, about the community, about the school. So, it’s cool that Cam is back here. Then you see Cody’s camp, Cordell’s camp. We’ve got all our guys come back and rally around each other and help each other out. So, it means a lot for Cam to be here. We had Trey here a year ago. Darrius drove up from Kansas City. That stuff means a lot. Coach Hedberg, out of retirement already, back out here running around. So, it’s a lot of fun.”
Also new to this year’s clinic is the addition of roughly 20 wide receivers with Shepherd in town. Stick shares what he hopes all the attendees gain from this year’s clinic.
“One, I hope they enjoy it,” said Stick. “I’ve had such a great experience from this game. It’s given me a lot and I still love playing it. Two, to get better and take things back to their school. Some of these guys, quarterback and wide receiver from the same school are here. It’s a day to work together, hear the same information and take it back. Just some exposure and hopefully it benefits their season.”
One of the quarterbacks in attendance was Moorhead High School quarterback Jett Feeney. Feeney is entering his junior year with the Spuds and recently received two Division I offers (Montana State and NDSU).
“It’s really cool getting to work with Easton and there’s a lot of other quarterbacks here they get to work with too,” said Feeney. “You get to work with guys younger than you and guys older than you in college, so it’s a really cool experience.”
