MSUM and Essentia Health hold Scrubs Camp

FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) — MSUM and Essentia Health teaming up to spread awareness about working in healthcare.

Together they hosted their scrubs camp event for high schoolers at Essentia Health Clinic on 32nd Avenue South in Fargo.

There students learned what it’s like to be a healthcare worker in different fields like pharmacy, nursing, and others.

MSUM believes its important to show high school students what its like to work in healthcare, especially with the ongoing nursing shortage.

“Its a big educational piece because at this age you don’t really know exactly what you want to do. Maybe you hear just about strictly nursing in an ER or in a nursing home but there’s a lot more than you can do with a nursing degree and that’s what this is about,” said Nicole Larry, MSUM Youth Outreach Coordinator.

In total 15 students attended the event and did multiple different stations.
