Senior led DGF Legion baseball have sights set on postseason action

DILWORTH (KVRR) – It has been a great summer thus far for DGF Post 397 Sr. Legion. They have already won over 20 games as they have their sights set on representing the region in postseason play.

“Where I hope our season goes is, is into the postseason, where we’re playing our best baseball right now,” said DGF Head Coach Al Krueger. “We’re playing, I’m going to say, really good baseball now. We need to manage that and keep getting better. You can’t get satisfied, and that can happen in sports with young guys. You’ve got to keep your eye on the end of the year. We talk about that, and let’s just hope we’re playing better in another three weeks than we are today.”

Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton is a senior led program this season. A group that has seen a lot of success the past five years and now starting to really click on all cylinders.

“It’s such a fun, fun atmosphere every time in the dugout, every practice. I mean, even BP, it just, you can just tell by one practice with us, we get along so well. We have a huge senior class. We’ve been playing forever.” said Dylan Anderson.

While Post 397 has faced some great teams this summer, this week they took on the Moorhead Blues and Greg Noel. While Noel dominated on the mound with some nasty lefty pitches, DGF was able to break through to get the win over the Blues. A type of win that can help build confidence for a team who has aspirations in the postseason.

“We’re gonna make plays, that’s what we do. And the bats are gonna come like, I mean, even a really good pitcher, we’re gonna get to them,” said Anderson. “Obviously, me as a senior, a lot of these guys are seniors. It’d be really, really cool to you, end it with a state tournament appearance.”
